If You Write it, Will They Come?

Getting published or writing a wonderful short story or crafting that beautiful poem is amazing. Getting those words in front of an audience, however, is difficult. For readers, it can be frustrating searching for unique stories and voices that resonate with you. Traditional publishing pushes stories that tend to sell best. Nothing wrong with this but it means niche stories, minority voices, and indie authors are less likely to be pushed out to the masses.

When it is up to the creator to get their story out, many struggle to promote their creation. Website development, social media, customer engagement, digital strategy, sales funnels, etc. etc. etc. Unless you’re marketing guru or digital strategist, you’re going to run into wall after wall of frustration and disappointment. It can smother the magic you’ve created and quiet the voices that deserve to be heard. We all have a story in us that can inspire, motivate, and/or comfort another.

Bridging the Gap Between Writers and Readers

The writing community has taught me much and the community of readers is a passionate one you’d struggle not to enjoy. Writing is one of the few passions in my life where I feel complete, myself. My day job however is working in digital strategy and marketing. With two decades of website development and over a decade of digital marketing, I had something to give to the reading and writing community. It took time and many nights of putting my writing aside but I got to work.

Dexter’s Place will help knock down some of those walls that stand in your way as you promote your creative works. Being a writer and reader myself, I have really enjoyed interacting with both the writing and reading community.
